| Bacillus megaterium |
Bacillus megaterium, which is a Gram-positive bacterium, belongs to the genus Bacillus. It can form spores. In agriculture, Bacillus megaterium can be used to produce phosphate-fixing and potassium-fixing fertilizers. It has a good effect of degrading organic phosphorus in soil. It is a common strain used in biological organic fertilizers.
Mode of action:
- Bacillus sp have various enzymes which Promotes Phosporous in easy available to plants. It produce some biological substances which stimulate plant growth
Recommendation for use:
Seed treatment:
Mix 100 ml of liquid biofertilizer mixed with 250 ml of water.Coat uniformly on seeds for 1 acre, dry in shade & use it for sowing.
Mix 1-2 litre of biofertilizer in 200-250 litre& use it for drip irrigation.
250 ml of biofertilizer mixed with 200kg of FYM and broadcast at the time of last ploughing.
Mix 250 ml of biofertilizer in 25 litre of water. Dip the root portion of seedling 30 min before transplanting.
Use for Crops:
Paddy,Sugar cane,Wheat,Maize,Chick pea, Soybean, Capsicum, Turmeric,Banana, Chilli, Tomato, Mango, Pulses, Pepper, Cotton, Ginger,Leafy vegetables.
Benefits:
2) It saves Phosphorus @25-35 Kg./ Hectare.
3) It increases crop productivity by 10-20%
4) It enhances the roots development to maintain plant health.
5) It also helps to increase soil fertility.
6) Due to its residual effect, it is beneficial for next crop.
